Mi background principal es el estudio del desarrollo del sistema nervioso en relación con las enfermedades psiquiátricas, con especial énfasis en la esquizofrenia, por medio de la ingeniería genética y el desarrollo de animales modificados genéticamente . He desarrollado numerosos animales transgénicos así como el único recombinante homologo hecho íntegramente en el país. Recientemente hemos generado un modelo animal de la esquizofrenia (Tomasella, PNAS, 2018).
