El objetivo de esta investigación es reconstruir el lugar de la fotografía en el aparato informativo de la prensa diaria popular de Buenos Aires, entre 1900 y 1940. El objetivo de esta investigación es reconstruir el lugar de la fotografía en el aparato informativo de la prensa diaria popular de Buenos Aires, entre 1900 y 1940. Gracias a una serie de innovaciones técnicas que permitieron su reproductibilidad a escala industrial -particularmente del fotograbado de medio tono hacia fines del siglo anterior- las fotografías se incorporaron directamente en las publicaciones diarias y constituyeron un factor determinante en el desarrollo de los medios de comunicación y la cultura de masas durante las primeras décadas del siglo XX.
