Mi desarrollo profesional se centra en el estudio de los rasgos ecofisiológicos de plantas en ambientes naturales y sistemas productivos. Trabajo con técnicas analíticas para medir el intercambio de gases en hojas y rasgos hidráulicos, como el potencial hídrico foliar, la conductividad hidráulica y el flujo de savia, con el objetivo de comprender las respuestas de las plantas frente a distintos factores ambientales. Además, integro enfoques de ecología funcional y de comunidades, evaluando el daño por insectos herbívoros y la diversidad vegetal a diferentes escalas, desde especies y grupos funcionales hasta el paisaje, para analizar cómo las interacciones bióticas y el manejo del ambiente influyen en el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas.
