Estas incluyen: a) Adaptación de modificadores para la optimización en tiempo real; b) Control optimizante y de restricciones; c) Optimización batch-to-batch de procesos por lotes; d) Integración de control predictivo y optimización de estado estacionario; e) Selección de estructuras de control basadas en economía; f) Diseño óptimo de plantas con incertidumbre. Estas herramientas permiten operar procesos en su óptimo pese a incertidumbres, usando enfoques prácticos. La solución adecuada depende de factores como la precisión del modelo, el comportamiento dinámico y las perturbaciones. He sido clave en el desarrollo de la adaptación de modificadores, que combina modelos de principios fundamentales y datos experimentales para optimizar procesos.
