Trabaja en el desarrollo de marcos conceptuales y metodológicos para consolidar los enfoques integrados de la desertificación como problema ambiental de las tierras secas, generando nuevos enfoques científicos que demostraron la gravedad de la desertificación como problema, global, nacional y local. Inspirada en el estudio de Sistemas Complejos ha logrado cuantificar los procesos, sus indicadores y sus tendencias. De ese modo ha podido darle herramientas tanto a los tomadores de decisión como a las propias comunidades en riesgo, trabajando conjuntamente con las poblaciones afectadas, implementando métodos participativos y multi-escalares. Ha aplicado estos conceptos en estrategias de desarrollo local y en el aporte a la formulación de políticas públicas en la provincia de Mendoza, desierto del monte, Argentina. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
