During the last 5 years I have acquired a lot of expertise in the field of melanoma, inflammation and sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), which resulted in the publication of several papers in the field. Also, working with Dr. Sarah Spiegel during almost six years was of great help to interact and establish fruitful collaborations with many investigators in Argentina and USA. Based on recently published studies and our preliminary results, we hypothesize that tumor associated macrophages (TAM) modul... During the last 5 years I have acquired a lot of expertise in the field of melanoma, inflammation and sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), which resulted in the publication of several papers in the field. Also, working with Dr. Sarah Spiegel during almost six years was of great help to interact and establish fruitful collaborations with many investigators in Argentina and USA. Based on recently published studies and our preliminary results, we hypothesize that tumor associated macrophages (TAM) modulate the resistance of melanoma to vemurafenib. In addition, we suggest that S1P is involved in the polarization of TAMs. To test our hypothesis, we use both cellular and molecular approaches and have extensive experience in a variety of methods, including western blot, QPCR, migration, invasion, proliferation, ELISA and cell culture among others
