Mi desempeño científico se ha llevado a cabo desde el inicio en el área de la ecología vegetal. En una primera instancia, me focalicé en la ecología funcional comparativa y su relación con los servicios ecosistémicos provistos por los ecosistemas del bosque chaqueño seco, poniendo a prueba distintas teorías ecológicas acerca del rol de la diversidad funcional como determinante de procesos asociados a la dinámica del carbono, y específicamente, al secuestro de carbono. Actualmente mi foco de investigación se relaciona con la dinámica de la materia orgánica del suelo y su relación con los procesos que determinan la fertilidad y secuestro de C, mediados por la rizósfera, particularmente orientados a la restauración de servicios ecosistémicos en sistemas bajo manejo antrópico. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
