Desde el año 2000, oriento mi investigación al desarrollo de bioproductos inmunomoduladores para aplicación en salud animal a partir de metabolitos de plantas autóctonas. Junto a un grupo interdisciplinario logramos incrementar el potencial biológico de los bioproductos utilizando la nanotecnología. En ensayos in vitro se estimulan células (MAC-T, RAW 264.7, Caco-2), se cuantifican citoquinas por ELISA, se evalúa la fagocitosis de macrófagos y la expresión de receptores (TLR2, TLR4, NOD2), NFkappaB, MyD88 y citoquinas por qPCR. En ensayos in vivo (ratones, cerdos, vacas, gallinas) se evalúa el efecto inmunomodulador de los bioproductos así como su potencial adyuvante en vacunas experimentales. Se cuantifican anticuerpos (IgG, IgG1, IgG2a, IgA) por ELISA, se evalúa proliferación de PBMCs, cuantificación de citoquinas por ELISA y por citometría de flujo se determinan poblaciones celulares. También estudia la biocompatibilidad de los bioproductos. Cabe destacar que trabajo en red con investigadores de la UNRC, UNC, UNICEN, INTA y colaboradores extranjeros (UFRJ y UFFRJ). *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
