Actualmente mi área de investigaciòn se enfoca en el estudio de los mecanismos etiopatogénicos de la retinopatía diabética a través del análisis de la regulación molecular y epigenética de la homeostasis de la glucosa. Para esto utilizamos modelos animales que resultan imprescindible para elucidar los mecanismos involucrados en su desarrollo y para establecer estrategias terapéuticas de nueva generación para el tratamiento de esta enfermedad.
