Su experticia principal comprende la aplicación de técnicas de optimización a problemas de interés para la industria energética. Sus primeros desarrollos se orientan a la programación de operaciones de distribución de combustibles a través de poliductos. Los modelos propuestos han marcado un antes y un después en la representación del problema. Más recientemente, a partir de una estancia de investigación posdoctoral en los EEUU, ha generado conocimiento relacionado a la planeación estratégica de la industria del shale oil y shale gas, y su cadena de suministros. Esto le ha permitido establecer acuerdos tecnológicos con Y-TEC S.A., con el fin de optimizar el abastecimiento de insumos para la perforación, estimulación y operación de pozos en nuestro país. Asimismo, ha emprendido el análisis de viabilidad ambiental, con especial cuidado en el uso, tratamiento y reutilización del recurso agua. Finalmente, ha hecho aportes a la optimización del programa de producción y blending de combustibles en refinerías. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
