Mis investigaciones se centran en la ecología del fitoplancton de sistemas fluviales con llanura aluvial. Estudio los patrones de diversidad espacial y temporal a la luz de la teoría de metacomunidades y de los procesos determinísticos y estocásticos que la construyen. Analizo la importancia de los factores abióticos, bióticos y espaciales en la estructuración de los ensambles de microorganismos. Utilizo estas herramientas para interpretar los procesos ecológicos y el funcionamiento de los sistemas acuáticos. Aplico técnicas de microscopía, fluorescencia y secuenciación masiva de genes a estudios ecológicos, funcionales y taxonómicos de microorganismos. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
