Más específicamente, este grupo de trabajo tiene como lineas de investigación:1.El estudio del rol de la enzima Hemoxigenasa-1 en cáncer en general.2. El estudio del rol del cofactor transcripcional p300 en el cáncer de mama. Estos dos objetivos incluyen investigar la influencia de estas moléculas en la desregulación de los procesos moleculares, celulares y tisulares que conduce al cáncer. Para ello se utilizan técnicas de biología molecular y celular incluyendo diversas técnicas histológicas, así como experimentos con cultivos de células, en modelos animales y en muestras humanas provenientes de tumores. 3. La tercera linea de investigación involucra el desarrollo de ensayos preclínicos de nuevos análogos sintéticos del calcitriol para estudiar su potencial utilidad terapéutica en el tratamiento del cáncer.
