En nuestro laboratorio se estudia el rol de la enzima HO-1, del cofactor transcripcional p300, de Rho GTPasas y del sistema hormonal de la vitamina D3, incluyendo ensayos preclínicos de nuevos análogos sintéticos, en la biología y tratamiento del cáncer. También se evalúan los efectos antitumorales del hongo Grifola frondosa. Se están investigando correlaciones entre la expresión de HO-1 y p300 con datos clínicos e histopatológicos. Algunos de los resultados obtenidos indican la posibilidad que estas moléculas puedan ser utilizadas como factores pronósticos en algunos tipos de tumores. Se está investigando también la influencia de estas moléculas en la desregulación de los procesos moleculares, celulares y tisulares que conduce al cáncer. Se están realizando ensayos preclínicos con análogos del calcitriol y observando importantes efectos antitumorales y antimetastásicos con algunos de ellos. También se han detectado importantes efectos antitumorales del hongo Grifola frondosa y se están estudiando los mecanismos moleculares responsables de los mismos. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVALines of Investigation
