Mis investigaciones científicas se encuentran enmarcadas dentro de la geoquímica de la superficie terrestre, la cual abarca desde aguas superficiales, subterráneas y precipitaciones; hasta sedimentos de cauce o fondo y suspendidos. Analizo el origen y evolución de elementos químicos mayoritarios, minoritarios y trazas (inclusive tierras raras) y los procesos que modifican su concentración, ya sean disueltos en el agua o bien formando partículas y minerales en los sedimentos. Estos procesos ocur... Mis investigaciones científicas se encuentran enmarcadas dentro de la geoquímica de la superficie terrestre, la cual abarca desde aguas superficiales, subterráneas y precipitaciones; hasta sedimentos de cauce o fondo y suspendidos. Analizo el origen y evolución de elementos químicos mayoritarios, minoritarios y trazas (inclusive tierras raras) y los procesos que modifican su concentración, ya sean disueltos en el agua o bien formando partículas y minerales en los sedimentos. Estos procesos ocurren en la interfase entre los diferentes subsistemas del planeta Tierra que se conoce como "zona crítica". Dentro de esta investigación aplicada se incluye la línea de geoquímica ambiental, en la cual se evalúan aspectos de contaminación natural o antrópica. Por último, se analizan diversos sistemas exógenos, desde aguas neutras a alcalinas de ríos y lagos, hasta sistemas con características físico-químicas extremas: drenaje ácido y bajas temperaturas, como sistemas antárticos. Realizo modelados geoquímicos con PHREEQ-C.
