El ambiente lumínico modula las defensas de las plantas contra diferentes patógenos y pestes. Para abordar el estudio de esta rama de la biología utilizo mutantes de Arabidopsis para dilucidar el mecanismo molecular subyacente. Entre las técnicas moleculares y bioquímicas se destacan ensayos de pull-downs, CO-IP in vivo, colocalización de proteínas, simple y doble híbrido en levaduras entre otras.
