Profunda formación en la teoría del control automático y la gran influencia de las ciencias de la computación en el control. Profunda formación en la teoría del control automático y la gran influencia de las ciencias de la computación en el control. Me especialicé en la utilización de inteligencia artificial (IA) para resolver problemas de ingeniería. He abordado la supervisión local utilizando sistemas expertos, lógica difusa y redes neuronales para conseguir obtener controladores inteligentes. También aplicaciones en modelado y supervisión global de procesos empleando sistemas basados en conocimiento, prestando especial atención a la detección y diagnóstico de anomalías, centrando el tema de mi tesis doctoral en este ámbito, (1995). Desde mi ingreso a la CIC CONICET (1998), mi trabajo se centró en el Control Inteligente, con técnicas de IA. Particular interés me despertaron las aplicaciones en robótica y robótica subacuática.(durante los años 2004, 2005 y 2006 - posdoctorado con una acción Marie Curie de la Unión Europea con el Dr. Oscar Calvo. Actualmente, las aproximaciones de control inteligente y bioinspiradas para la robótica móvil autónoma y las factorías inteligentes son mi tema de trabajo.
