Claudio G. Menéndez is a member of CONICET at CIMA (Centro de Investigaciones del Mar y la Atmósfera) and UMI-IFAECI/CNRS, and professor at the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. He holds a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires. Claudio was a post-doc and visiting scientist at the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (Paris) and invited professor at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (France), Ecole Polytechnique (France) and Universidad de Castilla La Mancha (Spain). His research work and scientific interests include extratropical climate variability in the Southern Hemisphere, regional climate change in South America and Antarctic Peninsula, response of the coupled Antarctic sea ice-atmosphere system, and land surface processes in South America. Claudio has been and is currently involved in a number of projects on climate change and variability in South America and with some international scientific committees. He has also been involved in the production of the IPCC WG1 AR4 and AR5 as lead and contributing author.
