Los trabajos realizados se encuadran en estudios sistemáticos de la familia Poaceae y estudios sobre anatomía y biología reproductiva, en particular sobre estructuras florales asociadas a la polinización en diferentes familias de Angiospermas. Para ello se aplican técnicas histológicas, estudios de exo-morfología, métodos moleculares, análisis filogenéticos, observaciones de campo, análisis de diferentes estructuras mediante microscopia electrónica, observaciones de ejemplares de herbario, etc.
