En el marco de sus funciones de investigación, docencia, extensión y ejercicio profesional, se ha ocupado y se ocupa de temas inscriptos el ámbito de la historia de la cultura escrita y de los usos sociales de la lectura. Su ámbito de investigación actual atiende a la historia de las bibliotecas en la Argentina del período entresiglos XIX-XX, desde una perspectiva que se construye entre los aportes de los estudios culturales y aquellos pertenecientes a la historia de las ideas.
