Mi campo de trabajo es la vigilancia y epidemiología de los defectos congénitos. Investigo sobre los cambios de frecuencia de defectos específicos a nivel geográfico y en el tiempo. Asimismo, sobre la distribución y asociación de factores de riesgo (genéticos y ambientales) que se relacionan con estos problemas de salud. Asimismo, coordino una red nacional que recolecta información sobre defectos congénitos en aproximadamente 150 maternidades del país.
