Mi carrera se ha desarrollado principalmente en el campo del estudio entre los microorganismos de los alimentos y el hospedador en el contexto intestinal. La orientación impartida a los trabajos incluye tanto aspectos benéficos (probióticos) como adversos (patogénesis microbiana). Los planes de investigación desarrollados se basan en la utilización de técnicas microbiológicas así como también cultivo de células eucarióticas y ensayos en animales. La respuesta frente a la presencia de microorganismos se evalúa a través de técnicas de PCR, métodos inmunológicos y microcopía convencional, electrónica y confocal. Los resultados obtenidos poseen potencial aplicación en el área de los alimentos (seguridad alimentaria, producción) así como también en salud humana. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVALines of Investigation
