SÍNTESIS Y ESTUDIO DE MATERIALES NANOESTRUCTURADOS APLICADOS A PROCESOS INDUSTRIALES Y REMEDIACIÓN DE RECURSOS HÍDRICOS CONTAMINADOS. Esta línea de trabajo está centrada en la síntesis de NPs y sólidos nanoestructurados y en el estudio de sus propiedades físicas y químicas, utilizando distintas técnicas de caracterización como: Difracción de Rayos X, Espectroscopía Mössbauer, Microscopía de Transmisión Electrónica, Microscopía de Escaneo Eletrónico, Espectroscopía en el rango Infrarojo, entre otras. Posteriormente se estudia su aplicación y desempeño en dos grandes campos generando de esta manera dos sub-líneas de trabajo. La primera sub-línea comprende la síntesis y caracterización de nanopartículas de hierro soportadas y no soportadas y su aplicación en procesos catalíticos que buscan la obtención de combustibles alternativos al petróleo. La segunda sub-línea se centra en la síntesis y caracterización de nuevos compositos a base de hierro y silicio, con propiedades magnéticas y de escala nanométrica, y su posterior aplicación a la remoción de contaminantes de matrices acuosas. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
