Me especializo en la búsqueda y desarrollo de nuevos agentes terapéuticos y compuestos bioactivos a través de la aplicación de técnicas computacionales de diseño y búsqueda racional de fármacos. Estas técnicas abarcan tanto metodologías desde el ligando como desde el receptor, incluyendo machine learning, docking y dinámica molecular, cribado virtual, modelado molecular, entre otras. He abordado problemas de farmacorresistencia en múltiples patologías como el cáncer y la epilepsia, y diversos blancos moleculares como la anhidrasa carbónica, tres proteasas del SARS-CoV-2, el canal de protones activado por voltaje humano (hHv1), entre otros. Adicionalmente, cuento con experiencia en la realización de ensayos experimentales in vitro y ex vivo, la cuantificación analítica de muestras por HPLC, y en la síntesis de compuestos bioactivos.
