En mi profesión uso la técnica dendrocronológica, que sirve para estudiar la edad de los árboles. A partir de esto se pueden hacer muchas inferencias, como la relación del crecimiento con variables climáticas. Luego con esta información se puede reconstruir el clima del pasado y observar como ha sido las variaciones en el clima en el pasado. Información fundamental para ver si hay un cambio climático. Además se puede aplicar para estudiar la productividad de una especie, observar distintos tipos de eventos en el pasado, como fuego, avalanchas, heladas, ataques de insectos, etc. Otro dato importante es que se puede conocer la tala de bosques en áreas degradadas. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
