Campo: Fisiología Animal, Neurociencias, Bioquímica, Biología Celular y Molecular de la retina. Manejo del zebrafish como modelo experimental. Neuro-gliogénesis y angiogénesis en modelos animales de lesión retiniana. Señales extracelulares implicadas en la regeneración neuro-glio-vascular. Modelo animal para estudiar patologías retinianas humanas: neuroprotección, proliferación y diferenciación celular, neovascularización. Técnicas: microinyecciones intraoculares, morfolinos, electroporación, inmunofluorescencia. RT-PCR, cuantitativa y semi-cuantitativa, western blot. Microdisección, histología normal y patológica. Determinaciones enzimáticas. Mediciones electrorretinográficas. También se investiga en el área del comportamiento animal en colaboración con el Dr. RO Bernabeu. Conductas motivacionales y efectos farmacológicos: reconocimiento de objetos, condicionamiento al lugar asociado a drogas de abuso, ensayos de percepción y agudeza visual.
