Estudio de la modulación de la respuesta inmune contra M. tuberculosis, agente causal de la tuberculosis, por hormonas adrenales y/o sus derivados en personas viviendo con VIH. Las lineas de investigacion actualmente exploradas se refieren a la respuesta inmune específica por parte de LT CD8 citotoxicos, LT regulatorios , células dendríticas y macrófagos. Las técnicas utilizadas para el desarrollo de nuestros proyectos de investigación involucran cultivo celular de células mononucleares de sangre periférica y/o de subpoblaciones celulares purificadas; citometria de flujo (para la determinación de fenotipo y función de las células en estudio); ELISA; ELISPOT; Real-time PCR; CBA); Western Blot; Clonado y expresión de proteínas recombinantes; secuenciación; uso de herramientas informáticas específicas para el analisis de datos de citometria de flujo.
