Comencé mi actividad científica en el estudio de las propiedades biofísicas del transporte de agua. Domino técnicas inmunohistoquímicas (Frungieri y col., 1999), de cultivo celular (Ozu y col., 2005a), voltaje-clamp (Ozu y col., 2005a, Assef y col., 2011), microscopía y modelado matemático (Ozu y col., 2013), entre otras. Además de aprender diferenctes metodologías experimentales y de simulación también desarrollé otras técnicas originales para la medición de la permeabilidad osmótica (Ozu y col., 2005). Fui pionero en demostrar la regulación mecánica de las acuaporinas (Ozu et al., 2013; Goldman et al., 2017), y este es el tema de trabajo en el que se enfoca mi grupo.Me especializo en el estudio del gating mecánico de acuaporinas animales y vegetales. Recientemente establecí una colaboración con el Dr. Carlos González León del Centro Interdisciplinario de Neurociencia de Valparaíso (CINV, Chile) y el director del CINV donde aprendí la técnica de patch-clamp para la medición de corrientes de gating. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
