En la mayoría de los trabajos realizados, el tema central de investigación es la correlación electrónica en átomos y/o moléculas interactúando con superficies sólidas. Los modelos realizados se basan principalmente en el Hamiltoniano de Anderson, a partir del cual se realizan distintos tipos de aproximaciones y la obtención de las funciones de green se realiza a partir del método de ecuaciones de movimientos.
