En mi formación de posgrado y postdoctoral analicé complejos problemas del desarrollo embrionario en organismos modelos de estudio. En particular, se investigaron mecanismos moleculares, celulares y morfogenéticos de vertebrados que llevan a la formación de hojas embrionarias ectodérmica y mesodérmica, como también de la poblaciones específicas dentro del ectodermo, particularmente células de la cresta neural. Al presente se investiga el rol de vías de señalización celular y sus genes componentes sobre la regulación de procesos que controlan la especificación, migración, diferenciación y formación de derivados de las células de cresta neural. Se emplea metodología de embriología clásica en conjunto con la más moderna metodología de biología molecular y celular. Los conocimientos de regulación génica y mecanismos moleculares en organismos eucariotas se aplican al estudio y utilización de levaduras modelo y oleaginosas a los fines de su aprovechamiento. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
