Como paleontólogo me ocupo del estudio de los palinomorfos, y entre ellos el polen y las esporas, que se depositan en sedimentos marinos, lacustres o terrestres. Gracias a los proceso de fosilización los hallo preservados en sucesiones sedimentarias. Gracias a su identificación taxonómica son fundamentales para establecer los grupos de plantas presentes en un determinado sitio en el tiempo. Además, permiten realizar interpretaciones paleoambientales, paleoclimáticas, paleobiogeográficas y de evolución de las floras a través del tiempo. Estos estudios los complementado con el análisis sedimentológico de dichas sucesiones a fin de obtener información del ambiente depositacional, sus variaciones espacio-temporales y las causas de las mismas. La información obtenida se emplea para efectuar predicciones útiles para el hombre; por ejemplo: localización y caracterización de rocas ?reservorio?, determinación de causas y efectos de las inundaciones y otros riesgos geológicos asociados. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
