Mi investigación aborda el impacto del cambio climático en el crecimiento de árboles tropicales y subtropicales de América del Sur, con énfasis en el manejo forestal basado en pautas silviculturales. Asimismo, mis investigaciones están orientadas al desarrollo de una red de cronologías en los biomas de cerrado y bosques tropicales montanos, destinada a la reconstrucción de la variabilidad climática pasada, como base para la proyección de los efectos del cambio climático en estos ecosistemas
