Soy Lic. en Ciencias Biológicas y Dr. En Ciencias Biológicas de la UNMdP. Temas de tesis: aspectos bioquímicos y moleculares del metabolismo del carbono en plantas y del carbono y del nitrógeno en cianobacterias. Estancia postdoctoral en la Universidad de California en Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, US: aspectos bioquímicos y moleculares de la fijación biológica del nitrógeno en bacterias. Actualmente dirijo un grupo de investigación que se dedica principalmente a: 1) estudios enfocados a posibles aplicaciones tecnológicas del cultivo de microalgas y cianobacterias para la obtención de biocombustibles, alimento para animales, pigmentos y otros productos de mayor valor agregado, y tratamiento y valorización de efluentes industriales; y 2) posibles aplicaciones de la fijación biológica del nitrógeno para la fertilización económica y ambientalmente sustentable de cultivos de plantas y microalgas. Esta línea de investigación se lleva a cabo bajo dos enfoques experimentales principales: ingeniería metabólica de plantas y bacterias y biorrefinerías de cianobacterias diazotróficas. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
