Mi preocupación de investigación principal es la reproducción de la violencia política, especialmente las graves violaciones a los derechos humanos, en América Latina con énfasis en Centroamérica. Me enfoco en las Fuerzas Armadas y las organizaciones civiles de ultraderecha durante el período de la Guerra Fría a través de la perspectiva de la Sociología Histórica. En mis investigaciones recolecto fuentes primarias de diferentes archivos de América Latina (Argentina, México, Guatemala, El Salvad... Mi preocupación de investigación principal es la reproducción de la violencia política, especialmente las graves violaciones a los derechos humanos, en América Latina con énfasis en Centroamérica. Me enfoco en las Fuerzas Armadas y las organizaciones civiles de ultraderecha durante el período de la Guerra Fría a través de la perspectiva de la Sociología Histórica. En mis investigaciones recolecto fuentes primarias de diferentes archivos de América Latina (Argentina, México, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Cuba, Paraguay), aplico técnicas de análisis de contenido y triangulo los datos obtenidos para resolver problemas de investigación que requieren la metodología comparativa y las perspectivas transnacionales. Este modelo de trabajo lo enseño y se replica en los equipos que coordino, pues no sólo ha tenido importantes resultados académicos, sino que ha servido para la construcción de peritajes judiciales fuera del país y para colaborar con la Secretaría de Derechos Humanos de Argentina. Por dicho motivo, he recibido premios e integro el Programa de Ciencia y Justicia de CONICET.
