El objetivo principal de mi trabajo es comprender la historia geológica de zonas de subducción, con énfasis en los Andes de Argentina y Chile. Para esto, utilizo técnicas de geología estructural y geotectonica, integrándolas con disciplinas complementarias (geocronología, termocronología, geofísica, sedimentología, volcanología, geoquímica, modelado numérico, etc). El objetivo principal de mi trabajo es comprender la historia geológica de zonas de subducción, con énfasis en los Andes de Argentina y Chile. Para esto, utilizo técnicas de geología estructural y geotectonica, integrándolas con disciplinas complementarias (geocronología, termocronología, geofísica, sedimentología, volcanología, geoquímica, modelado numérico, etc). Los resultados obtenidos tienen aplicaciones para el conocimiento acerca del peligro sísmico y volcánico, y para la búsqueda y explotación de recursos naturales (hidrocarburos, yacimientos minerales).
