Mi tarea de investigación gira en torno al estudio de la diversidad lingüística, enfocado particularmente en la descripción de las lenguas indígenas de América del Sur.Me especializo en la descripción de la lengua tapiete (tupí-guaraní) hablada en el norte de Argentina, Bolivia y Paraguay. También, en los últimos años, mis investigaciones se han centrado en estudios tipológicos que han abordado aspectos de la fonología y la morfosintaxis de las lenguas chaqueñas.
