Búsqueda racional de nuevos tratamientos para la enfermedad de Chagas y otras enfermedades parasitarias desatendidas; mediante el uso de metodologías in silico basadas en quimio y bioinformática, incluidos el cribado virtual, las redes fármaco-proteína, comparación de sitios de unión al ligando, similarity ensemble approach y metodologías de Machine Learning aplicadas a la búsqueda racional y reposicionamiento de fármacos (la búsqueda de nuevos usos terapéuticos para fármacos ya conocidos, incluidos fármacos aprobados, abandonados, discontinuados y experimentales). Dicha estrategia es particularmente relevante en el campo de las enfermedades desatendidas, como la Enfermedad de Chagas, donde el financiamiento para el desarrollo de medicamentos es escaso y la mayoría de las investigaciones en curso son financiadas por el sector público o por iniciativas sin fines de lucro. *Information provided by the agent in SIGEVA
