Me he desempeñado inicialmente en el área de la Virología, particularmente en la transmisión de la madre a hijo del HIV. Posteriormente, trabajé asociando la disciplina de Inmunología a la Virología, inicialmente en la interacción de la célula dendrítica con el HIV, y luego inicié el tema de estudio que comprende evaluar el impacto del semen en la transmisión sexual del HIV y de otros patógenos de transmisión sexual, principalmente en su impacto en la respuesta inmune anti-infecciosa.
